Mission for The Little Gift Room

Having opened its doors back in 1998, the Little Gift Room is a family run local gift shop that became so successful it had to start a website to cater for all its orders. This website however was set up in a hurry and was struggling to generate online business, with visitors choosing to quickly browse rather than make a purchase. Bespoke were drafted in to design an exciting new site that would encourage these visitors to make a purchase.

Solution for The Little Gift Room

Specialising in smaller gifts created for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, our team wanted to highlight the popular ranges amongst the products which happened to be the ‘gifts for him’ and ‘gifts for her’ sections. Using this as a starting point, Bespoke developed a boxed style layout that included a moving image banner next to a badge of ‘the No.1 gift shop online’ to give a positive first impression and encourage the user to explore the rest of the site. Our team also placed the business contact details and social media icons to take centre stage at the top of every page to improve the user experience. With the simple white and pink colour scheme, this e-commerce site is straightforward to use thanks to its basic menu and organised product catalogue. It was important to implement a logical purchase process to help the user buy the items they want quickly and efficiently - a problem with the previous site.

The finished site was launched back in 2012 and there has been steady progress ever since. The Little Gift Room has seen an increase in their search engine ranking on Google, coupled with a big step forward in not only the number of orders, but also the amount of items being ordered. The site is now visually engaging and has greatly increased their online presence.
