The Custom House has been part of Poole Harbour’s heritage since 1813, but was restored and converted into a restaurant and bar in 1997, providing an excellent multi-purpose venue in an excellent location for locals and visitors to the area. Having recently undertaken a new modern look, the website needed to be updated to fit in with the design. Bespoke were set the task of creating a unique site that could improve this restaurants’ online presence and encourage guests to come through the doors.
Solution for Custom House
With the challenge of making this new site both highly engaging and functional for users, our team created a layout that combined high quality images of food and drink with the detailed content provided by Custom House. After liaising with the client, we chose to use a simple colour scheme including a sophisticated purple shade to ensure that professional, high end appeal. The background on this site also contains a subtle reference to the fact that almost all the food served at the restaurant is sourced in Dorset locally or from elsewhere in Britain. With guests looking to book a table online, our team fixed the menu when scrolling to provide an easily accessible ‘book now’ button at all times. There is also a section of the site dedicated to wedding and function enquiries with specific contact information provided.
Result for Custom House
Since its launch, the new Custom House site has received incredibly positive reviews from guests and the business has seen a huge uplift in visitors to the site and online table bookings. With potential customers able to view all the food and drink menus online, regardless of whether they are on desktop, tablet or mobile, bookings have increased and the restaurant is appearing higher than ever before on search engine results.
