As a leading business in the commercial marine, defence and superyacht sectors, Burgess Marine needed a website that reflected the scope of their services. Clients include BAE Systems, Condor Ferries, Euro Tunnel and even Lord Sugar!
At the design stage, we ensured that the new website was very image-led and highly visual. This would appeal immediately to the visitor and make them want to investigate further. The left hand menu bar was created to give the site its own distinctive identity and the full screen imagery has immediate visual impact.
As specialists in three different sectors, there was a great deal of content to add into the site and this was done by way of landing pages for each with easy navigation to the sub-pages. So as not to overwhelm the visitor with huge swathes of text, we added boxes with scroll bars. These ensured a neat and clean appearance for each page.
Burgess Marine operate on a global scale and wanted to demonstrate this via a global map where we added multiple pins to highlight the different area of the world they had operated in.
We worked very closely with the client throughout the design and build of the new website. On going live, they were thrilled with the final site and had a great many clients and contacts contact them to say how impressed they were with its look and feel. It has really given the client a much-improved online presence and platform to showcase their work.
