Christmas! On a personal level it's way too early to be thinking about Christmas stockings, sherry and Santa, but with my professional elf’s hat on, it's never too early to plan your festive campaign. And we can help....
Throwing open the shutters to best loved views of Dorset
We are proud to launch ‘Our 360’ - a free virtual reality (VR) app that encourages people staying home to explore the most-loved views of Dorset, from the safety of their armchairs or garden benches.
The 360-degree videos and panoramic images transport users to local areas, such as Baiter Park, Bournemouth Pier, historic Poole Town, Sandbanks and other popular sites in the region. As the video ‘walks’ them through the area, the user can simply tilt and pan their phone or tablet giving them the freedom to look around and soak up the views and sounds from home, as if they were there in person.
“During their exercise time, our team went out with the latest in 360 video technology to film in their local areas”, explains Alistair Paton, Technical Director at b4b marketing, who had the idea for the app.
“We are now inviting local photographers to send us their own views to add and make it a community-driven project, for everyone to enjoy from home. Perfect whilst people are unable to travel to their favourite destinations.”
The 360-views in the app can be further enhanced by using VR headset technology to give an even more immersive experience.
Alistair went on to say “Isolation can have a big impact on people’s mental health. With ‘Our 360’, we wanted to allow people to escape to familiar views that they love, helping to lift their mood and spark memories that make them smile.”
Photographers will be able to showcase their work and link out to their portfolio to help them promote their skills to potential clients and win new work. Please email email@example.com if you are interested to contribute.
The app is available via the app store for free download on iOS and Android devices.
