The UK based online fashion retailer, ASOS has recently launched a brand new tool that could potentially revolutionize the E-commerce world and how we shop online.
The tool allows customers to search for products on the app using an image – whether it’s a screenshot from Instagram of a photograph of their best friend’s shoes! The new search function works to track down products within the online store that are similar to the image and allow them to be bought online.
ASOS have previously noted that the vast majority (over 80%) of UK traffic to its website comes from customers using mobile devices and have therefore developed the new image search function to help aid the user experience and help customers find exactly what they’re looking for as quickly as possible.
